Festival celebrates drama talent

Umbono - Zinzolwam Eastern Cape Creatives (Directed by Nox Donyeli).

The Makana Drama Development Festival hosted by Ubom! Eastern Cape Drama Company took place at the Rhodes Theatre on Saturday 11 November. The annual festival showcases community drama productions. Junior and Senior Community drama groups performed and winners of the Senior group will be invited to apply for the National Arts Festival Fringe programme and assisted to develop their production.

Best Runner Up – 2017 Pieces by ALA Entertainment

Best Supporting Actress – Eyami Sandi (From Fingo Movement ).
Apehelele Nombiba – Best Supporting Actress (From Sakhuluntu Cultural Group).
Aphelele Maphekula – Best Actor (From Sakhuluntu Cultural Group).
Asemahle Lukwe – Best Actress (from Zinzolwam Eastern Cape Creatives) with Judges – Daines Sanga & Siza Mata.
Best Runner- Up production – Nontlupheko by Sakhuluntu Cultural Group.
best Production – Umbono – by Zinzolwam Eastern Cape Creatives.
Best Actress – Asemahle Lukwe (Zinzolwam Eastern Cape Creatives).
Ayanda Mtwalo – Repenting Drunkard by Nathaniel Nyaluza High, directed by Ayanda Mtwalo.
