Assistant Director of Grahamstown Town Library Patricia Njilo

    Cathy Gush

On Saturday 23 September the Friends of the Library will hold their Annual Fete in the Hill Street Library hall from 9am-11am. We recommend people come early to avoid disappointment, as the best books and white elephant items sell fast!

There will be a comprehensive collection of good second-hand books on offer, as well as bargains at the White Elephant and Plant Stalls, while delicious tea and eats will be on sale at very reasonable prices.

This will also present Grahamstown residents with the opportunity to see the newly refurbished Hill Street Library.

The annual fete is the Friends of Makana Libraries’ main fundraising event of the year, and all funds raised are donated to the Makana libraries for purchasing new book stock and books that have been requested by readers. Currently there are seven fully functioning libraries in the Makana district, so please do support this effort to boost our local libraries.
