One of South Africa’s best-selling pickups, the Toyota Hilux, is now available in a limited edition “Black” guise.

Following in the footsteps of previous special editions of the model such as Dakar, Legend 35 and Heritage, the Black serves as part of the company’s flagship double-cab Raider range, with prices for the Black starting at R521 100, or  R27 000 more than the standard Hilux.

The new edition is available in three

exterior colours – Glacier White, Chromium Silver and Graphite Grey – with the exterior also sporting colour-coded over-fenders, door handles and mirrors. The Black also presents itself with black gloss touches on the front grille and bumper inserts, and roof, as well as 18” dual, tri-spoke alloy wheels. Inside, drivers are presented with panels accented with carbon fibre and black leather interior with silver stitching, and additional features such as a power-adjustable driver’s seat.

The Hilux Black comes standard with Toyota’s 2.8-litre GD diesel engine, which produces 130 kW, and 420 Nm of torque if fitted with a six-speed manual transmission, or 450 Nm with a six-speed automatic. Raised body and 4×4 variants of the Black are also available to customers.

The Hilux Raider Black also comes standard with a 3-year/100 000km warranty and a 5-year/90 000km service plan.
