DSG’s first netball team scored a resounding 32-17 home win in Friday’s K-Day derby against Kingswood. The hosts dominated from the first whistle to the last, outscoring Kingswood in each quarter of the game.

The first quarter saw DSG gain a narrow 8-5 advantage going into the break. However, it was in the second that they truly began to assert their dominance, stretching their lead to 17-9.

Kingswood came out of the blocks looking promising in the third quarter, opening the scoring, but DSG once again gained control of the game and stretched their lead to 22-11.

Kingswood suddenly gained a sense of urgency to their play, putting together what was arguably their best spell of the game and scoring three times consecutively. Unfortunately for them, DSG’s consistency pulled rank as they regained control of the game and went into the break 26-15 ahead.

In the fourth quarter, Kingswood’s fight looked to have deserted them. DSG took advantage, pulling away to seal a comfortable 15-point win.

The DSG stand celebrated by rushing onto the court. However, they were not alone in showing immense pride in their school. Kingswood’s supporters also showed their unwavering support by cheering their team on throughout the defeat.

Both sets of supporters from carried their enthusiasm into one final day of action on Saturday.
