A 24 year old male was arrested by a Moyeni detective last week after he followed up on information about a firearm, reports Captain Mali Govender, South African Police Service spokesperson.
The detective was serving subpoenas at a local village when a member of the community alerted him to a young man carrying something on his waist.
During a search of the person, the detective found a 9mm pistol.
The suspect was arrested for possession of a firearm without a licence and will appear in the Peddie Magistrate’s Court.
