After four days (spread over two weekends) and six games, the Albany Bowling Club mixed pair of Billy Krige and Marlene Jacobs won their section in the Eastern Areas Mixed Pairs event.

The playoffs took place at the Albany Bowling Club last weekend between three of the six pairs.

The Albany pair of Krige and Jacobs won Section 2, thus automatically qualifying for the finals.

Rob Croly and Bryony Shone of Kenton Bowling Club won Section 1 and were crowned overall Eastern Areas champions, finishing with six points. Krige and Jacobs finished runners-up with four points.

Krige and Jacobs and Croly and Shone will now face the top two teams from the various regions in the Eastern Province to determine the overall EP champions.

The EP Mixed Pairs Championships takes place at the Westview Bowling Club in Port Elizabeth on 21 and 22 January.
