The Remembrance Day Parade 2016 will take place on Sunday at 10.30am on Church Square and members of the public are invited to attend and wear medals and decorations awarded to their ancestors.

However, members of the Makankop Shellhole advise that these must be worn on the right breast, and not as traditionally worn by soldiers, on the left side.

The annual Remembrance Day Parade will take place on Church Square to pay tribute to the men and women from the Grahamstown District who served on various battlefields at home and abroad.

Serving members of the 1st City Regiment, 6 SA Infantry, the police services, representatives of Makana Municipality, members of ex-servicemen's and women's associations along with local schools have been invited to take part.

The ceremony will be held at the War Memorial next to the Cathedral. All are invited.
