Springbok coach Allister Coetzee admitted that the All Blacks proved more clinical than his side during Saturday's 41-13 drubbing of South Africa.
Speaking after the match, which was played at the AMI Stadium in Christchurch, Coetzee pinpointed the difference between the reigning world champions and his side.
“The New Zealanders are very clinical. They know when to play, where to play, and although they made a couple of mistakes in the first half, they took their chances. That’s the difference between the two teams at this point in time," he said.
“Full credit to New Zealand. Their systems are working well. The transition from World Cup-winning team to the next has been very, very good, unlike in our case.
“There are things which we can fix. The players now have a week off before we assemble again, and we will work very hard when we get together for the next two matches."
South Africa went into the break 15-10 down and still very much in the game, but were outclassed in the second half.
They will face Australia in Pretoria on 1 October before finishing off their Rugby Championship campaign one week later in a rematch against New Zealand in Durban.
