The Oldenburgia Hiking Club's annual charity hike will take place on Sunday 11 September.

Hikers are asked to meet at Pepper Grove mall in the car park at 8am. The hike starts from 8.30am.

The hike will take in St Cyprian's Church and Highlands Farm, taking in some expansive views, fynbos, and a historical railway station and bridge.

The walk, including stops, should take about three hours, requires a basic level of fitness and is suitable for all ages as it is a leisurely 6.5kms.

Wear good hiking shoes/boots, hat and sunscreen and take water and refreshments for morning tea. Lunch will be available at the Highland's Country Fair at St Cyprian's so take cash if you want to or a picnic basket.

Cost: R30 per person (minimum donation), plus R10 for fuel, payable on the day.

Hikers are asked to consider offering to take their vehicle and to ensure that it is safe and has sufficient fuel for the trip (40kms total).

Proceeds will go to the Mary Waters High School Interact Club to support their project to remove alien vegetation.

For more information, contact the hike leader, Helen Averbuch on 082 841 0790 or helen.dogflower@gmail.com
