A Rhodes University student who fell from a window in his room in June this year died on Sunday 7 August.

The university’s Media Relations Officer, Carlene Royle said it is with deep regret that they announced the death of their former student Sibongiseni Sidloyi.

“He passed away on Sunday morning at Livingstone Hospital in Port Elizabeth where he was in the Intensive Care Unit since the accident on 18 June.

“Mr Sidloyi fell from a window in his room and fractured his skull. He was a third-year BSc student and he was from Tsomo in the Eastern Cape.

“Further details about a memorial service will be announced to the Rhodes University community in due course.
