Drugs worth more than R370 800 were found on a bus travelling west on the N2 from East London towards Port Elizabeth yesterday morning Sunday 14 August.

Police spokesperson Captain Mali Govender said the bus, from a well-known national line, was carrying tik, mandrax and cocaine.

Govender said provincial traffic officials stationed at Grahamstown were conducting a vehicle check point around 8am on the N2 near Grahamstown when they found the drugs.

"During a routine search of the trailer, the traffic officers found a black suitcase in the case compartment."

In it were only two items of women's clothing, Govender said. The rest was packed with mandrax, tik and cocaine.

Govender said the SAPS have also stopped searched and seized drugs on these buses, making several arrests.

"But in this case no suspects have been arrested."
