Travellers on the R72 between Port Alfred and Fish River should note that there will be blasting on the route on Wednesday, August 10 from 3pm, the South African National Roads Agency Ltd (Sanral) has announced.

Work is being done at Shaw Park quarry on the R72 and the road will be closed for approximately 30 minutes.

The Shaw Park quarry is situated near the intersection of the R72 where a gravel road leads to Shaw Park. The quarry area extends from the Sanral kilometre markers 20 800 to 21 200.

“Motorists are requested to plan their trips accordingly, be cautious when making use of the road and to comply with the instructions of safety personnel,” said Mbulelo Peterson, Sanral Southern Region regional manager.
