St. Andrew's College captain Sazi Sandi has been selected in the 26-man South Africa schools squad following an impressive string of Craven Week performances as for Eastern Province Country Districts (EPCD).

St. Andrew's College captain Sazi Sandi has been selected in the 26-man South Africa schools squad following an impressive string of Craven Week performances as for Eastern Province Country Districts (EPCD).

Sandi, who was EPCD's Craven Week vice-captain, had earlier drawn praise from Robbie Kempson on Super Sport talk show TMO 2nd Half. The Eastern Province Kings head coach said: "Potentially going forward, he [Sandi] could be a sensational tighthead prop."

The South African selectors appear to have agreed, picking Sandi as part of a side that will play in the U19 International Series in Paarl and Cape Town next month.

The first round of matches in the U19 International Series will take place at Crawford's City Park on Friday 12 August. This will be followed by a round of fixtures at Bishops Diocesan College on Tuesday 16 August, before the series concludes at Paarl Boys’ High on Saturday, 20 August.

South Africa's start off against Wales, before moving on to a clash against France and a final encounter against England.
