    Music fest starts tomorrow

    The annual St Andrew’s College/Diocesan School for Girls Music Festival starts tomorrow (Wednesday 11 May).

    The annual St Andrew’s College/Diocesan School for Girls Music Festival starts tomorrow (Wednesday 11 May).

    Choirs, ensembles and orchestras from Grahamstown schools and surrounds will participate, and there will be solo performances by music students of all ages. Participating schools will include St Andrews College, DSG, Kingswood College, Graeme College, Victoria Girls’ Primary and High Schools as well as soloists from the Grahamstown area and young musicians from the Access Music Project.


    The programme will take place on the following days:
    Wednesday 11 May – 7pm – Choir Festival (SAC Centenary Hall)
    Thursday 12 May – 7pm – Ensemble Festival (SAC Centenary Hall)
    Friday 13 May – 8.30am – Soloist Concert (DR Wynne Music School at DSG)
    Friday 13 May – 2pm – Workshop and Master Class by Joanna Wicherek (DR Wynne Music School at DSG)
    Friday 13 May – 7pm – Orchestra and Large Ensemble Festival (SAC Centenary Hall)
    Saturday 14 May – 7pm – Gala Concert by selected young musicians and groups (SAC Centenary Hall)

    Members of the public are welcome to go and watch and entry is free.
