Grahamstown’s Ironman athletes, Nolan Berriman and Terri-Lynn Penney fared well in Sunday’s Standard Bank Ironman African Championships to complete the gruelling event.

The two enjoyed good swims in the choppy sea and both set good times on the new cycle leg, before completing the run leg to hear MC Paul Kaye announce: “You are an Ironman.”

Berriman finished in 11 hours 46 minutes and 24 seconds while Penney finished in 13 hours four minutes and six seconds.
    Ironman consists of a 3.8km swim, 180km cycle and a 42.2km run.
