Grahamstowns's own Makana Brick Nite Race will take place tomorrow (Wednesday 2 March).

Grahamstowns's own Makana Brick Nite Race will take place tomorrow (Wednesday 2 March).

The starting point is the Graeme College Somerset Field, with athletes taken on an 8km route through the streets, finishing back in the same place.

There are spot prizes as well as category prizes and each finisher will receive the traditional pineapple and cola.

This year's route is designed to go past all the schools in the area – Graeme, Kingswood, St Andrew's, DSG and St Andrew's Prep.

Everyone is welcome, say organisers – runners, walkers, joggers, even moms with prams – it's a true family event.

For those athletes chasing the prize-money, the first four men and women finishers will be awarded cash prizes.

The first placed athlete will receive R500, R300 for second place, R200 for third and R100 for fourth.

The entrance fee is R20 for adults and R10 for all pupils and students. Registration starts from 4:30pm with the race beginning at 5:30pm.

For more information contact Cathy or Lindsay on 0466227896.
