The South African Post Office  wants to remind us that the payment deadline for renewing your post box or private bag subscriptions is 31 January.

You can do so at any post office as well as online at www.virtualpostoffice.co.za.

The cost of renewal is R380 per year and, they say, it's worth it for the complete security and privacy.

“Post boxes are readily available and safe, allowing customers to access their mail at their

convenience,” says Andrew Nongogo, acting head of Mail Business at the post office.

Nongogo pointed out that a postbox can be paid at any post office outlet countrywide.

Customers need not pay at the outlet where they rent their postbox.

Post boxes offer excellent security for mail items and are particularly useful to companies

and individuals who receive important or sensitive items in the mail, he says.
