Two men in their 30s are due to appear in the Grahamstown Magistrate's Court on Monday 25 Janury following their arrest on drug charges by members of the Grahamstown Highway Patrol during an operation on the N2.

Grahamstown Police spokesperson Captain Mali Govender said the men face charges of possession of drugs after 100 mandrax tablets with a street value of R6 000 were seized. The blue BMW in which they were travelling was also seized.

"The Grahamstown Highway Patrol members were conducting a vehicle check on the N2 when one of the suspects threw a parcel out the window," Govender said. "On opening the parcel, the drugs were found."
