If you fancy a day on the beach with an energetic difference, why not join the Oldenburgia Hiking Club this Sunday as they hike from Bushman's River Mouth to Diaz Cross and back.

Hike leader Liz Gowans says it's a moderately difficult beach walk, around 10km in total there and back.

If you're coming from Port Alfred, meet at the Halyards Marina pool at 7.30am to share lifts, The meeting point in Bushmans will be at the shop (Nicolls Multisave in Park Street).

The cost is R10, plus the shared fuel cost. Bring a hat, sunscreen, plenty of water, snacks and lunch.

And of course your swimming costume!

For more information call Liz Gowans at 072 517 7714 or email oldenburgiahikingclub@gmail.com

The Oldenburgia Hiking Club does day trails and weekend hikes, mostly around Grahamstown but also further afield. Day hikes are open to the public and shared transport means it's not essential to have your own.

Weekend hikes are for club members only.

To join or for more information about the club contact oldenburgiahikingclub@gmail.com. You can also go to the club Facebook page at www.facebook.com/oldenburgiahikingclub.
