The Kowie River Mile –  which takes place on Sunday 27 December – is an open water swimming event for the whole family and a qualifier for the Midmar Mile. It's also being run (or, at least, swum) in support of the NSRI and SPCA.

There is a 400m; 800m and 3 Mile swim so everyone can participate.

There is something for all the family – even those who are not swimming.

There'll be food and drink on sale, crafters, exhibitors, vendors and entertainment and it should be, say organisers, "an awesome Sunday outing".

There is plenty of secure parking. For more information and to register online please go to www.kowierivermile.co.za.
