Brumbies Rugby Club will host the Fabian Juries Community Fun Day tomorrow (Saturday) at the Oval Sports Ground. Rugby 10s and netball will be the two sporting codes that will be played.

Numerous community teams are expected to take part in the day’s. Currie Park Rebels are the defending champs in the rugby while Verries United are last year’s netball champs.

The event is named after Scotchfarm resident Fabian Juries, who will also sponsor the event. Juries is a former Springbok Sevens player and has represented various provincial unions and super rugby franchises. Juries was due to play for the Cellotape rugby side, but, as head coach of the EP 7s side, is off to the Inter Provincial 7s Tournament in Nelspruit with the EP team.

This year’s event also forms part of the 15th anniversary celebrations of the Brumbies. Teams taking part include: Currie Park Rebels, Team Cellotape, Ghost Town United, Verries United, Hooggenoeg White Bulls, Newton Collegians, Fingo Village and Scotchfarm.

The sports events will end with a prize giving ceremony where numerous awards will be made.

This will be followed by an open air Disco at the Oval. Entrance fee at the Oval is R10 (vehicles), R10 adults and R3 scholars.

Fixtures attached.
