Motorists can expect a delay of around 30 minutes on the R72 between Port Alfred and the Fish River tomorrow afternoon, according to the South African National Roads Agency Ltd (SANRAL).

Motorists can expect a delay of around 30 minutes on the R72 between Port Alfred and the Fish River tomorrow afternoon, according to the South African National Roads Agency Ltd (SANRAL).

In a media release this afternoon, the Agency said road users could expect travel delays because of blasting at the Shaw Park quarry that is due to start at 3pm on Tuesday, 29 September 2015.

The Shaw Park quarry is next to the R72, near the intersection of the R72 with the gravel road leading to Shaw Park.

The Agency said the quarry extends from its kilometre markers 20 800 to 21 200.

"The road will be closed and motorists can expect a delay of approximately 30 minutes," the Agency said. "Motorists are requested to plan their trips accordingly and be cautious when making use of the road."
