Former Grahamstonian and current assistant coach of the Proteas, Adrian Birrell, will host a coaches workshop in Grahamstown that will take place at Kingswood College on Friday (18 September).

Organiser of the workshop and Kingswood College 1st XI cricket coach, Gregg Van Molendorff, said the event was hosted in our city because EP cricket has identified Grahamstown “as a key area of excellence with regards to our cricket”.

Van Molendorff said it is also a way of keeping our current coaching knowledge up to date. “Adrian obviously works with the national side, so having that knowledge and experience available to our coaches is incredible”, he added.

The event has been opened to all coaches in Grahamstown. A net session will be held during the day, while Birrell will touch on technical issues and, says Van Molendorff, talk about the more advanced topics of match situation scenarios.
