EP face WP in Coca-Cola Craven Week final match

Under-18 Coca-Cola Craven Week hosts Western Province will host Eastern Province in the grand finale of the tournament on Saturday at the Markötter Sports Complex at Paul Roos Gymnasium in Stellenbosch following strong performances in their first two matches.

Under-18 Coca-Cola Craven Week hosts Western Province will host Eastern Province in the grand finale of the tournament on Saturday at the Markötter Sports Complex at Paul Roos Gymnasium in Stellenbosch following strong performances in their first two matches.

Western Province defeated the Blue Bulls 20-13 in their opening match and supported this with an emphatic 65–5 victory against the Griffons on Wednesday, while Eastern Province beat SWD 41-31 and KwaZulu-Natal 23-22 respectively.

Zaci Sandi of St Andrew's College is the only Grahamstown player selected for the EP Craven Week team.

In the other big match-up on Saturday KwaZulu-Natal will go up against SWD.

The final round will be played on four fields due to the rain expected in Cape Town, with Eastern Province CD and Griquas going head-to-head and Zimbabwe meeting Namibia in the traditional Test match to kick-start the day’s play at 9am. Grahamstown players to look out for in the EP CD side are: Athi Halom (Kingswood), Siba Mzanywa (Kingswood), Anthony Dakin (St Andrew's, Captain), Luyolo Tshangwina (Graeme), Mike van Breda (Kingswood), Ewan Pieters (Kingswood), Thembi Mangwana (Kingswood), Jason Liesmore (Kingswood), Xolile Mdlokovana (St Andrew's), Grant Dixie (St Andrew's). Team manager is George Lamani (Nathaniel Nyaluza).

The final match will be played at 3pm on the main field.

Under-18 Coca-Cola Craven Week day-five Fixtures, Saturday 18 July:

Main Field:

1.15pm – KwaZulu-Natal vs SWD

3pm – Western Province vs Eastern Province

Volkskombuis Field:

10.15am – Border vs Valke

11.45am – Blue Bulls vs Boland

Meulsloot Field:

9am – Eastern Province CD vs Griquas

10.30am – Pumas vs Free State

12pm – Golden Lions vs Griffons

Doornbosch Field:

9am – Zimbabwe vs Namibia

10.30am – Griquas CD vs Border CD

12pm – Leopards vs Limpopo Blue Bulls
