The St Andrew’s College 1st XV played a strong Selborne side away in East London on Saturday.

The teams had battled hard throughout the day with the U16Cs producing the standout performance of the day for St Andrew’s.

The St Andrew’s 1st XV went on to the attack early and dominated the opening passage of play.

This culminated in a great break by Anthony Dakin which was rounded off with a try for Grant Dixie.

Selborne then scored after some resolute defence.

This was followed up by three further Selborne tries.

Baron Boateng-Aidoo scored for St Andrew’s so they were down 12-26 going into half time.

In the second half both teams produced some good passages of play, but Selborne benefitted from some St Andrew’s errors to add to their try tally.

St Andrew’s produced some more fluid attacking as Anthony Dakin broke close to the Selborne line and dived over for a try.

    St Andrew’s lost 19-43.
