Grocott's Mail's local government reporter Avuyile Mngxitama-Diko will be leaving the organisation at the end of this month to take up a post in a regional media company.

"We're obviously very sad that Avuyile is leaving," said news editor Sue Maclennan.

"But delighted for the opportunities that spreading her wings will bring for her career.

"We're grateful for the fantastic award-winning work she has done, covering the events and goings-on in our town. She's built a sound base on which we will continue to build."
