The 21st edition of the Grahamstown Bowling Club’s Night Bowls Competition is scheduled to start on 26 January.

The 21st edition of the Grahamstown Bowling Club’s Night Bowls Competition is scheduled to start on 26 January.

While invitations have been sent out to regular entrants; clubs, businesses and organisations can still enter their teams of four players for the 2015 Pepper Grove Pick n Pay Inter Company Night Bowls.

Entry forms are available from Mad Hatter's Coffee Shop in High Street, or email june.mcdougall@gmail.com.

The event will accommodate 60 entries on a first come, first served basil, committee member June McDougall said.

Teams taking part in the competition are welcome to hold practice sessions at the bowling club. The club can also organise coaching for teams.

“If you haven't played in this tournament before, you are missing out on lots of fun and enjoyment, as well as an opportunity to meet a wide cross-section of Grahamstonians,” said McDougall.

According to a new rule in the competition, teams are allowed only one experienced bowler per team, and he or she may not skip.

With the first evening of competition starting on 26 January, play will then continue for the next six weeks, with the final set for Friday 6 March 2015.
