Fourth year television students from the School of Journalism and Media Studies at Rhodes University are hosting their 9th Annual Documentary Film Festival in the Barratt Lecture Complex Thursday 16 October.
Fourth year television students from the School of Journalism and Media Studies at Rhodes University are hosting their 9th Annual Documentary Film Festival in the Barratt Lecture Complex Thursday 16 October.
A cocktail party will kick off the night which will then screen four 24-minute documentaries produced by the TV4 class.
The documentaries deal with social issues, such as colourism, which deals with the misconceptions around coloured identities, the underground sport of Roller Derby in Durban, traditional healing in South Africa and the emergence of new sub-cultures in Soweto.
The Film Festival rolls its red carpet at 6.30pm and the screening starts at 7:30pm.
