A 23-year-old Grahamstown woman made a brief appearance in the Grahamstown Magistrate's Court yesterday Monday 1 September, charged with stabbing her 50-year-old father to death.

According to police, witnesses said the father and daughter were at their Aiken Street home on Saturday night.

"They were both under the influence of alcohol," said Captain Mali Govender in a media release.

"An argument started and the daughter allegedly stabbed her father with a knife. He died at the scene."

The next court date is not known at this stage.
