Ntombesintu Mfunzi won the women’s category of the Oak Cottage KwikSpar Mountain Drive half marathon in Grahamstown on Saturday 9 August. The Nedbank Running Club member’s winning time was 1.26.50.

The men’s winner was Lungile Gongqa in 1.09.01.

The annual event started from the Rhodes University Prospect Field. The first two kilometres through town are flat and it is the undulating seven kilometers over Mountain Drive that give the race its name and reputation. Crossing the N2 and through the industrial area, runners and walkers finished at the Rhodes University Prospect Field.
