    Grahamstown schools excelled at the SA National Equestrian School Association (Sanesa) schools league qualifier at the Grahamstown Riding Club (GRC) at the weekend winning or being placed in numerous classes.

    Grahamstown schools excelled at the SA National Equestrian School Association (Sanesa) schools league qualifier at the Grahamstown Riding Club (GRC) at the weekend winning or being placed in numerous classes.

    Pupils from Kingswood College, Victoria Primary and Victoria Girls High School, Graeme College, and Diocesan School for Girls and St Andrews College, competed against some top provincial schools and took top place in dozens of classes.

    Megan Du Preez from Kingswood Junior deserves a special mention. She is competing at a top level in all disciplines on her pony Rocky II and achieved five first places in equitation, showing and show jumping.

    Grahamstown Riding Club members who also participated in a graded and ungraded show run simultaneously with the Schools League show also did well at the show.

    Pat Pohl won both adult Elementary dressage tests on Pohlands Velcro C and both novice tests on Al Khali.

    Bianca Duthie riding Al Kimiya Sahura won her Novice 3 junior dressage test and came second in Novice 2.

    Grahamstown Equestrian Centre instructor Claire Faddel won both her adult prelim dressage tests on Pohlands Musical Belle.
