    The annual Rhodes SRC Great Field Party narrowly missed cancellation at the end of 2013. Due to both financial and administrative issues, the original plans were forced to change.

    The annual Rhodes SRC Great Field Party narrowly missed cancellation at the end of 2013. Due to both financial and administrative issues, the original plans were forced to change.

    In the space of two months, the university’s student council and a local Grahamstown pub, The Rat and Parrot, collaborated to organise what would typically require three.

    The event managed to include not only traditional live performances from featured artists, but also provided an afternoon of activities.

    GM TV interviews SRC President Bradley Bense and the owner of The Rat and Parrot to find out more from behind the scenes of the Great Field Party that almost never was.
