Kingswood College headed off to St Alban's for the Independent Schools Cricket Festival with three tough fixtures looming: Bishops in a two-day fixture, and 50 over matches against Hilton and Kearsney.

While the Kingswood side has shown immense potential, they have not been consistent in their performances at home yet.

The first day of the two-day match against Bishops started well, after Kingswood won the toss and put Bishops in to bat on a difficult track.

After 20 overs, Bishops were 19 for one and seemed to have got through the difficult period.

At lunch, Kingswood had their opponents 134 for seven but then needed to force their dominance after the break.

Bishops fought back in that period, when Kingswood seemed to ease off the pressure, with Bishops finishing with an impressive 245 all out.

Early wickets left Kingswood in trouble as they eventually ended the day's play on 145 for eight.

Only Ryan Victor (41) and Jimmy Sholto-Douglas (61) made an impact, as Kingswood were bowled out for 176 the following day.
Kingswood faced a deficit of 69.

Bishops declared on 152 for eight, with a lead of 221. Kingswood were 39 for one, when the match was called off due to rain.

In their second game against Hilton, Jimmy Sholto-Douglas built a crucial 78 run partnership with Michael Braans.

Sholto-Douglas was eventually dismissed for 61, but that created a platform for Josh Shelley (24) and Cameron Hertz (26) to build on.

Kingswood made 193 for eight in their 50 overs.

Brad Haller picked up two for 13 and Cameron Hertz two for 22, in a spell which Hilton never recovered from.

Hilton made 127, leaving Kingswood with a 66 run win.

The last day of the festival saw Kingswood up against the confident Kearsney team at the Pretoria Boys High School field. Kearsney posted 248 for seven.

Marco Lombard and Brad Haller made a 188 partnership as Haller made 59 not out and Lombard finishing on 109.
Kingswood won by seven wickets in the 48th over.
