The disciplinary hearing of suspended municipal manager Pravine Naidoo started this week. Acting municipal manager Mandisi Planga said proceedings had started on Tuesday 18 February.

He said the presiding officer, advocate Reneé Van Rooyen, had been appointed. Attorney Chris Baker's will lead evidence during the proceedings.

In December, Council appointed Baker to investigate alleged misconduct by Naidoo. A subsequent report suggested serious misconduct.

It suggested there was evidence that Naidoo had dictated his own settlement agreement. Grocott's Mail reporters saw Naidoo leaving the municipal offices on Tuesday afternoon.
