In their clash against Woodridge on Saturday 8 February, Kingswood chose to bowl first, in overcast conditions.

That paid immediate dividends, when Brad Haller picked up a wicket on the first ball of the day.

Woodridge managed to fight back after losing wickets in the opening session, but Michael Braans’ introduction into the attack both pegged back the Woodridge batsmen, and led to wickets falling at a regular interval.

    Woodridge managed 142 all out.

Braans picked up six wickets for 18, in 16 overs.

Woodridge needed to take wickets up front, and that's what they managed to do as the Kingswood batsmen struggled to get any partnerships.

Only Jimmy Sholto-Douglas (37) and Joshua Shelley (27) managed to spend time at the crease as Woodridge capitalized on some poor batting, and built significant pressure with their tight bowling.

Kingswood were bowled out 15 runs short of their target.

A highlight for the Kingswood cricketers was the U15 Side.

They celebrated a remarkable day, with an opening batting partnership of 208 that included James Rippon’s second century in four innings.

The partnership set up a convincing win for Kingswood by 193 runs after they declared at 253.
