The Amazing ‘Other’ Show, an annual feature of Orientation Week, delves into issues of racism, cultural differences, sexual orientation and other sensitive subjects.

The Amazing ‘Other’ Show, an annual feature of Orientation Week, delves into issues of racism, cultural differences, sexual orientation and other sensitive subjects.

In 2008 the Dean of Students Division commissioned a production by the Drama Department to address controversial matters on campus. Andrew Buckland and Alex Sutherland collaborated with a cast of Drama students and created a show which covers weighty topics in an amusing manner.

The purpose of the show is to spark discussion and to encourage awareness about possible concerns in our society.

This year the Dean of Students, Professor Vivian de Klerk, commissioned a new production and Jess Harrison directs the show with a fresh cast of young performers from the Drama Department and the Ubom! Eastern Cape Theatre Company.

Catch The Amazing ‘Other’ Show at the Rhodes Theatre from Monday 10 February until Friday 14 February at 16.30pm. Entrance is free.
