Four records at PJ athletics

PJ Olivier held its inter-house athletics at the school (field events) and at Rhodes University Prospect Field (track) recently.

PJ Olivier held its inter-house athletics at the school (field events) and at Rhodes University Prospect Field (track) recently.

Four records fell during the sports events, with Simone Schoombee setting three new records. All the records were in the U13 age group. Simone set a new shot put record with a distance of 7.79 metres, ran the 800 metres in a time of three minutes 13 seconds and broke the discuss record with a throw of 17.69 metres. Keenan Warren broke the discuss with a throw of 18.92 metres.

  • Junior Victrix Ludorum – Simone Schoonbee
  • Junior Victor Ludorum – Shammah Sampson
  • Senior Victrix Ludorum – Portia Douglas
  • Senior Victor Ludorum – Shakirian Sampson
  • Best track event of the day – Shakirian Sampson
  • Best field event of the day – Shammah Sampson and Erin van der Walt
