The coming national elections are only expected to take place in May 2014, but citizens should register to vote now.

This weekend from 9 to 10 November is a national registration weekend, when you can register at your closest voting station between 8am and 5pm on Saturday and Sunday.

For Grahamstown North and West, voting stations are the following:

    St Aidens
    Graeme College
    Rhodes Great Hall
    Rhodes Theatre
    Library Hall, Hill Street
    Mary Waters School Hall
    Recreation Hall, Albany Road
    Sidbury Hall
    Seven Fountains Sports Club
    Transriviere Community Hall
    Salem Club Hall
    Farmer Field School
    Frasers Camp
    Manley Flats Sports Club

The voting stations for Grahamstown East still need to be announced. People who are going to be 18 years old by April next year can also register now.

As the registration is ongoing, citizens can also register at the local IEC offices at 20 High Street every weekday from 8.30 am to 5.30 pm.

If you've already registered before, you are still registered. If you want to check your status and make sure, you can SMS your ID number to 32810 and you'll get an update on your phone.
