The Kingswood College first cricket side beat Hudson Park in an inter-schools cricket fixture played in East London on Saturday 12 October.

Hudson Park won the toss and chose to bat first in the 50-over game.

Kingswood's opening bowlers stuck to some tight bowling and, together with some poor shot selection from the Hudson batsmen, Hudson were on the back foot from early on.

Anelisa Mteto (3 for 21) and Brad Haller (3 for 17) were devastating on the day, and were equally well supported by Jarod van Blerk (2 for 16) and Michael Hansel (2 for 27).

The seamers dominated the morning session, and were possibly even better after the drinks break, bowling Hudson out for 105.

Hudson struck early when Kingswood's batsmen padded up, removing Drew Matthew and bringing Brad Haller to the crease.

Haller (46 not out) and Hansel (52) took Kingswood to the brink of victory before a loose shot cost Hansel his wicket. Both batted superbly in the partnership of 88.

Kingswood reached the target soon after, winning by 8 wickets.
