Motion Shop mechanic Philippe Samouilhan will be on hand to ensure a trouble-free ride at the inaugural Grahamstown to Sea mountain bike challenge on Sunday 7 July.

The specialist bicycle care shop will have on hand any equipment cyclists might need on the day.

The course is suitable for both beginners and experienced riders, set at a distance of 58km and organised by the Saints and Sinners cycling club.

Samouilhan regularly sees to the needs of teams in the Cape Epic mountain bike race.

His cycling throughout South Africa over many years has given him a philosophical outlook on the sport and he believes mountain biking creates a calmness in one’s soul.

He says he's not surprised at the positive response to the G2C event and encourages more people to leave behind their dingy gyms for fresh outdoor air.

Samouilhan the G2C is a straightforward course that anyone can attempt.

While the event will have winners, Samouilhan says the real gain is for people to get out and enjoy the beautiful countryside. More about the event at www.grahamstown2sea.co.za
