In theology we find a few reasons why Jesus was born.
Most of us immediately think of John 3:16 that says; “For God loved the world in this way: He gave His One and Only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.”
In theology we find a few reasons why Jesus was born.
Most of us immediately think of John 3:16 that says; “For God loved the world in this way: He gave His One and Only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.”
But what amazes me is the fact that Jesus says in John 18:37 something very significant. Listen to His own words when He says why He was born: “Jesus replied, 'I was born for this, and I have come into the world for this: to testify to the truth.”
To testify means to confirm, to show, to give evidence or to be a witness of something. And in this case it’s the truth. Jesus also explains what truth is when He says in John 17:17 that God’s Word is the truth.
Taking this into consideration, let me ask you a question. That problem you have, that thing you don’t want to but have to face, the circumstance you are finding yourself in – is it a reality?
Of course it is. But is it the truth?
You see, if we believe what Jesus said, than it means that what God says about my problem, that thing I’m facing, my circumstance – that’s the truth.
And if what God is saying about it differs from what I’m experiencing, then I need to walk by faith and trust the truth – and not my perception of what is real.
