Police spokesperson Lieutenant Luvuyo Mjekula said a number of fines were issued for traffic offences, and police also confiscated suspected stolen property and drugs.
"Among the suspects arrested was a 19-year-old man in connection with the murder of a 27-year-old man that allegedly took place in Nemato in the early hours of Saturday, 25 May 2013," he said.
The police were called out to attend a stabbing incident in Zama-zama Street where they arrived and found the lifeless body of the 27-year-old lying on the ground.
"He had an open wound in the chest and was certified dead at the scene," Mjekula said.
Working with information from community members, the police arrested the suspect on Sunday. He will appear in court this week.
The police also arrested a 26-year-old man on Sunday 26 May for a murder that took place in Nemato that morning.
He is also appeared in court this week.
