Old Andrean, Nicholas More, died tragically in a helicopter crash on 23 April in Mpumalanga. More was piloting the helicopter when it crashed, together with three other passengers who were also fatally injured.

More, CEO of Lion Sands Private Game Reserve, was a husband and a father to four sons.

He and his family recently relocated to Grahamstown, where his three elder sons are following in their father’s footsteps at St Andrew's College.

In his time at St Andrew's, More was actively involved in sport, playing first-team rugby. He was vice-captain of the second rowing team, while also occupying various leadership positions within the school.

“Nick clearly had a major impact on so many people’s lives. He was a thoroughly committed family man who adored his wife and children. All in all, Nick was the archetypal good guy,” said St Andrew's Headmaster Paul Edey.

More was a fourth-generation owner of Lion Sands.

He was a conservationist at heart and believed in attaining a critical balance between commercialisation, conservation and community.

The funeral was held on Tuesday 26 April at St George's Church in White River.
