Thanks to late Bathurst cricketer Masixole Mkrakra his Tiger Titans team mates received a load of second-hand cricket equipment from the United Kingdom recently.

The team was thrilled with the three sets of cricket stumps, numerous pairs of cricket pads, gloves, helmets and caps, as well as a few balls collected by Janis Mowlam and her team at School Aid UK, in London.

Mowlam met Mkrakra when he was in London last year to give a speech about his team, which was formed through the The President’s Award for Youth Empowerment programme.

She was so inspired by his role within the Tiger Titans that she orchestrated the kit collection in the UK for the team.

Martin Scholtz, CEO of The President’s Award said, “This donation is really in memory of Masixole, who was such an inspiration for all who he met”.
