Over R10 000 has been raised from the Green Fund Run, as of Wednesday this week. According to Fund Run organiser Nikki Kohly, funding is still expected to come in, including funds from the VC’s challenge.

The funds will be used for projects that meet the Green Fund criteria.

The Rhodes University Green Fund (RUGF) is a" ring-fenced fund" to be used at Rhodes to reduce the ecological footprint of the University, and enhance sustainability at university and community level, said Kohly.

She added that a project requesting a grant from the RUGF is required to both demonstrate environmental benefits and project sustainability.
