    Dawes to lead editors’ group

    Mail and Guardian editor Nick Dawes is the new head of the SA National Editors Forum (Sanef).

    Mail and Guardian editor Nick Dawes is the new head of the SA National Editors Forum (Sanef).

    Dawes was elected chairperson at meeting of the organisation's council in Cape Town last weekend.

    He takes over from Mondli Makhanya.

    Deputy chairperson is Mpumelelo Mkhabela, Editor of Sowetan.

    Makhudu Sefara, editor of The Star, will take over from Mpumelelo as head of the body's Media Freedom Subcommittee.

    Premier of the Western Cape & leader of the DA, Helen Zille addressed the organisation on Saturday night at the Protea President Hotel in Cape Town.
