Anyone trying to contact the Makana municipal offices via e-mail has had a frustrating time of it for the past week.

Grocott's Mail received numerous complaints from people saying they could not send e-mails to officials, were receiving error messages and no replies.

Asked about the lack of responsiveness from his office, acting municipal manager Thembinkosi Myalato cited faulty servers as the cause, but said on Wednesday that the servers were up and running again.

At the time of going to print, the municipality could not be reached for comment on reasons for the problem.
