This was one of the Museums and Heritage Directorate of the Eastern Cape Department of Sport, Recreation, Arts and Culture's two-day activities before the Day of Reconciliation on Monday.
The main celebration takes place today in Aliwal North, Maletswai Municipality, at its Sauer Park Stadium.
This year’s national Reconciliation Day theme is centred around celebrating the triumph and heritage of people united in the struggle. 2012 has been declared the ‘Year of Heritage’, according to the ANC’s Centenary Programme guiding all major events this year.
The programme seeks to resuscitate the spirit of ubuntu and unity and seeks to promote reconciliation and foster cohesion among the rainbow communities that constitute the South Africa nation.
