Two generous last-minute donations have helped boost the Grocott's Mail Christmas Cheer fund to surpass its target of R15 000.

The two R3 000 contributions came from the St Andrew’s College Chapel Fund and the St Andrew’s College Family Service Fund. The R15 000 target may have been reached, but the fund is still open and Grahamstonians are urged to donate to this worthy cause.

This year’s beneficiary is the Grahamstown Hospice. This year’s Christmas Cheer Fund is not far from the record amount of R16 668 collected for the fund in 2008. Residents are encouraged to dig deep into their pockets, or log on to their bank’s e-banking site, and make their contribution to this worthy cause.

Apart from handing money in at the Grocott’s Mail offices in High Street, one can make an online contribution to the fund by finding the GBS Mutual Bank account on the FNB website.

The account number is 52322003436 and the code is 250655. It is important to remember that the reference number of the Grocott’s Christmas Cheer Fund is 00380700057

    Balance brought forward – R9 051.05

    St Andrew’s Chapel Fund – R3 000

    St Andrew’s Family Service Fund – R3 000

    Christ Church and Friends – R300 Total – R15 351.05.
