Radio Grahamstown is back on air and operating under new management after taking a break from broadcasting for a few weeks. The station went off-air shortly after its aerial was damaged by the heavy storms in October, but resumed broadcasting on Wednesday last week.

The repairs reportedly took a long time because the aerial replacement could not be purchased locally and had to be ordered from out of town. Acting station manager Pamela Zondani said the new aerial was installed on 7 November, but the station only came back on air the following week.

Zondani said the station is currently operating under new management, adding that workshops had been planned to empower their presenters shortly before the station resumed broadcasting.

Look out in next Friday's Grocott's Mail to read about future plans for the station and to find out more about the new management team. Radio Grahamstown is a community radio station that airs on 102.1 FM.
